Hey there.
Hope you’re having a fantastic day. Or, if it doesn’t fall in the category of fantastic, that’s perfectly normal and OK. I mean, the world is pretty rough right now. So, if it’s the case for you, I hope you can take a breath, look around, and name one thing that is fantastic in your immediate vicinity. Because it definitely exists. Share it with me!
This is mine:
Outside of that fluffnugget, my day and my brain feel totally frazzled. In fact, I was Voxing with a friend earlier and had to check myself and say hey, I think I have quite the attitude today, so please feel free to disregard literally anything I’m saying right now. Ha.
Same goes for you, of course.
In that spirit, I’m going to keep it simple today and just share a few quick things I think you might find a little bit fantastic.
First off, my friend and colleague, Lindsey, has created this amazing podcast summit. It’s all about real, talk, business talk, and self talk, and it totally delivers. I was lucky enough to be included as one of the experts (on Self talk, of course), and I think you’ll enjoy my episode. My two favorite takeaways are Lindsey’s quick check for determining how much you want to set your rates – which can absolutely be applied in negotiating salaries or raises too, and insight into a real and effective option for starting and building a real business. You can sign up and get all the episodes (5 experts in different areas, including Lindsey herself!) for on-demand listening anytime.
Second, another dear friend of mine is hosting a super ridiculously cool event in just a couple of weeks, and if you’re local-ish to Denver, check it out. The speaker’s she’s snagged are out-of-this world. Like, literal Hollywood actors are coming. Buy your ticket to the Freelancer Failure Ball here.
Third, I can’t get enough of this song. That is all. It contains my favorite compliment ever, and you’re welcome to shower me with it next time you see me if you can figure it out.
Fourth, an article and concept I’m loving lately. If you’ve ever uttered the word lazy with all kinds of self-critical disdain, this one’s for you. (I hear the book is great too, and it’s on my list. Also, that’s an affiliate link, FYI, and I get a couple bucks if you buy from it.)
Fifth, here’s 20% off at Athleta!
Sixth, did you hear that Cody Rigsby is going to be on Dancing with the Stars? I haven’t watched that show in years, but guess who’s going to be a superfan this season?!? Are you with me?
Seventh, I said a thing and I’ll say it here too. I say it here every year, and you can too.
Finally, I made this salad for dinner last night (sans corn) and oh my goodness, fantastic.
And here’s to your fantasticness today.
