You’re doing great.

My life is in flux right now. I’m back and forth a lot between Colorado and Saint Louis, and that flux – at least until November 1 – is keeping me a little bit stuck in my business. I feel like I should be doing more. I feel like I should be actively marketing or pursuing new business opportunities or building my email list. I feel like I should be creating or building new products or services or videos or really cool stuff for you. But all I’m doing is taking care of my Build Your Big Life group and my one-on-one clients.

Really, though, those are the most important things to me, so I’m not even sure what I’m worried about. Or if I should be worried at all.

I expressed as much to my Mastermind group yesterday, and every woman in the group basically said, knock it off. If you’re not sure what you should be doing, you shouldn’t be doing anything but exactly what you are doing. And, by the way, enjoy Colorado for the next month and worry about business when you get re-settled in STL.

That was what I needed to hear, and I’ve taken time and care to set my schedule for the next few weeks to reflect what matters right now. I spend a few hours in the morning taking care of my clients, returning emails, and doing any relevant business-related tasks that are immediately necessary. I spend the afternoon hiking, working out at the gym, or reading. Yep, that’s it.

This morning, I got my work done, headed out for a hike, and when I came home, decided to listen to/watch a webinar I had signed up for that was something along the lines of building a high-revenue business with a small-ish email list. I’m bad about signing up for this stuff all the time, but then never following through with the thing.

Today, I learned why.

Every single person on the internet whose business even remotely has anything to do with the internet is an expert in the internet. And then they try to sell their version of internet expert.

Which, OK, I get. We’re all just trying to make a living, right?

Yes, but the problem comes in when you tell me that you’re not into launching or hustling because you’re not that type of gal, but then this entire thing is literally a launch hustle.

Oh, and then? Zero of it is new information. Or helpful, actionable information. It’s an hour of fluff that I’ve just wasted my valuable time listening to, and now I’m more frustrated than ever.

As I said before, I have a bit of a problem of signing up for stuff that I think is going to be the thing that’s going to help me do more. Or more of what I feel like I should be doing. And really, that’s exactly what it ends up being every time. You’d think I’d learn!

Now, I have. For real.

What I’ve learned is that I’m doing fine. In fact, I’m doing great. I know a hell of a lot more than I think I know, and I don’t need another internet person to tell me so. I don’t need to sign up for another course, add myself to another list, join another Facebook group. In fact, I need to do less of all of those things, and do what I know best.

So today, all I want to share with you, what I really need you to know, is that you too are doing great. You’re doing more than fine. And you don’t need another internet person to tell you so. Do what you do, do it well, and don’t look back.
